the blankenship legacy
The Blankenship line, also known as the Gold Nugget Strain or Century Strain, was developed by John and Pauline Blankenship of Rutherford County, Tennessee. Today this line remains one of the most influential foundations in the preservation of the early English Shepherd lines.
Beginning in the 1940's, the Blankenships selectivly bred medium-sized working farm dogs capable of handling livestock, guarding the property, hunting vermin, as well as living along side the family.
